Steps to Build Foundation
The School is covering the materials but we are looking for a bit of donations so we can buy the volunteers lunch on 5 different Saturdays.
This is where we are going to build it:
A message from our project leads Kate and Ashton
Aloha! My name is Kate, and alongside Ashton, we're thrilled to share our senior project, "Learning Shack" at Kalani High School. This 12x12' replica bedroom, dedicated to the Special Education department, serves as a space for students to foster a sense of independence and practical life. From changing bed sheets to mastering household chores, this shack will provide students with hands-on exposure to housekeeping tasks. Not only does the shack empower Special Education students, but it's also a hands-on classroom for our engineering students. They'll be able to have the experience of constructing a larger scaled structure, using their skills for real-world application.
To bring this shack to life, we've organized five Saturdays from January to March, in need of a dedicated team of students and a couple adult volunteers. We need your support in providing funding or food for our dedicated volunteers. Any possible way you could help would be greatly appreciated by Ashton and I in our project toward continual learning opportunities. Your contribution will not only impact the lives of Special Education students but will also nurture the budding talents of our future engineers and robotics experts. Thank you for your support!
