Holomua Farms Project “Doors, windows and Goats”
Summary:
What: Build walls and window frames, Build 4x8 beams that huge doors can hang on, Bonus: Goat Shelter, Chicken Coop.
When: Oct 7 - 8, 8am to 3pm ish on Sunday
Who: AOK Supporters, kids can come, they will be expected to help out, RSVP
Where: North Shore, I’ll send directions, please RSVP
It’s a really nice big property on the north shore that supports local sustainable growth. A really good place to do some good and a really good place to hang out with friends after the charity project.
All Meals provided. We eat well!
Building specs:
Closing in 5 walls in the event space (place we had lunch last time)
Build 5 walls with a window in it and 1 with no window
Build a 2x4 frame
Hang the frame
Hang beams for doors to hang on
hang a 4x8 beam so heavy doors can latch onto them
Hang 2x6 to create a ceiling to hang the runners on
add cross brasses as necessary
Some of the beams will extend 5 feet from the building
Build a small Shelter
one day will house animals

Projects Schedule:
Oct 6th
Load the van
Drive out and unload
Oct 7
8am everyone arrives and get everyone (and their stuff) into trucks and dune buggies
8:15am we move out the second gate
8:30am we get the van to the job site (little tricky will take time)
8:30am unload the van stack all the lumber, start work
11am ish Lunch time
3pm Stop work clean up for the night
4pm ish dinner time
Oct 8th
6am if you are up you can start work
8am official start work
11am lunch
Start wrapping up and cleaning up
1pm leave
